Three things worth checking first
Is it urgent, or can it wait?Standing water or a building that has been shut up wet is genuinely urgent, because growth can establish on wet porous material inside one to three days in this climate and the evidence of when the water arrived disappears the moment anyone starts drying. Tell us when you call and we will pull the visit forward. A stain that has been there for two years can take a scheduled slot.
Say what the building has been through.That is worth more than a description of the patch. A leak, a storm, a burst line, an air conditioning system replaced, a spell standing empty, a remediation somebody already carried out. Each of those points at a different mechanism, and it frequently lets us tell you what to check yourself before anything is booked.
Three calls we would rather answer free.A small visible patch on a hard surface with a water source you have already stopped, which needs cleaning rather than a laboratory. A shower ceiling with an extractor fan that is not moving air, which needs a fan. And dark lines on a ceiling that follow the framing, which is usually ghosting rather than growth. If yours is one of those, you will hear so on the phone.
When you do get in touch, the rough floor area, the age of the building and what you can see or smell is enough for a real answer and a firm price. A photograph with something in it for scale is worth a great deal, and it occasionally ends the conversation there at no cost to you.
We would rather give you a free answer than a paid visit
If it turns out to be an extractor fan, a thermostat setting or a stain that dried out years ago rather than the remediation somebody has quoted you, we will say so and charge nothing for it. That is not generosity. It is how we would like you to remember us next time.
